Yes! This ideology is called “neoliberalism” — it was developed by Friedman and other economists like Hayek and von Mises.

Friedman was far & away the most well known proponent of neoliberalism (/neoliberal capitalism/neoliberal economics) in the United States.

When Reagan took office here (& Thatcher in the UK), it became the dominant ideology of the West and was regurgitated through simple platitudes like “Greed is Good” and “Government is the problem, Business is the solution”
