On a personal level, I agree with you that neoliberal thinking is downright sociopathic. Although, having met a lot of people who aren't full-blown neoliberal economists/philosophers/theorists, but still unwittingly support neoliberal ideas, the goal of this article is to address the people who don't understand that these "good business practices" are bat-shit crazy.

Part of neoliberal hegemony is to make it seem like all this is normal. Beyond normal -- unavoidable.

You're spot on about the hypocrisy -- government intervention is considered BAD SOCIALISM EVIL when it's a stimulus that helps a person, but it's just part of a functioning capitalist economy when government gives grants & stimulus checks & tax deductions & bailouts to big corporations.
