I read that a man was rejected from a police department for scoring too high on their IQ test. Their reasoning was that he was too smart and would get bored with police work and leave too quickly, so the department only wants to hire people who score smack in the middle. He sued about this but a federal court upheld the decision.

In other words: in the United States, it's possible to be too smart to be a cop.
